Mary Ann Amic, 82, of Canonsburg, died peacefully on Sunday, May 2nd. Mrs. Amic was born on April 13, 1939, the daughter of Joseph J. and Sue (nee Pallaria) Lucciola of Canonsburg.
Mrs. Amic was a mother and grandmother and one of the world’s foremost practitioners of “Momisms”. And, while none of her children ever “got pneumonia” from “walking (or worse, running) around with wet hair”, or “turned into a prune” from spending too much time soaking in the bath tub, all had been forewarned. Amazingly, throughout all of their respective childhoods, not one child’s room was ever “hit by a cyclone”, but, according to Mrs. Amic, said rooms, also sometimes referred to as “pig sties”, often looked as if they had been. So, Mom, we’ll try not to watch any shows that will “give us nightmares”, we’ll get to bed on time so we won’t “look like zombies” in the morning, and we’ll try to “use the common sense God gave us.”
Mrs. Amic is survived by her three children, daughter Paulette Carpenter, and sons Robert (Kimberly) Amic and Paul (Jill) Amic, Jr. Also surviving are brother Joseph Lucciola, four grand-children Zachary Carpenter, Dylan, Mason, and Demi Amic and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be private at the decedent’s request.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, LFD owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120.
