Mary A. DeVitis age 97 of Canonsburg passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, January 23, 2024, in Strabane Woods. She was born December 6, 1926, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Antonio and Bartolina Zambelli Panelli. Mary lived her life in Canonsburg and was a graduate of Chartiers High School. She was a faithful member of St. Oscar Romero Parish St. Patrick Church where she had been a member of the Christian Mothers and Guild. Prior to her retirement Mrs. DeVitis had been employed in the dietary department of the former Western Center for over 20 years. Mary was an excellent bowler who maintained a 180 average, enjoyed baking Italian cookies and gardening and volunteered at Canonsburg Hospital as a member of TWIG. Mrs. DeVitis was a loving homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. On June 22, 1946, she married Daniel C. DeVitis who passed away December 11, 1994. Left behind to cherish her memory is her son, Daniel A. DeVitis of Canonsburg and her beloved grandson, Derek DeVitis (Natasha Wilson), greatgrandchildren, Andrew Wilson and Vanessa DeVitis and several nieces and nephews. Mary was the last of her immediate family. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents is her grandson Dexter DeVitis who passed away June 30, 2018, brother Reno C. Panelli who died May 21, 2018, daughter in law Donna DeVitis who passed away August 2, 2007, her sister Mary Ann DeVitis and brother Michael DeVitis who both died in infancy.

Private family viewing and departing prayers will be held in SALANDRA FUNERAL and CREMATION SERVICES, INC. Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg (724) 745-8120. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11 am, Thursday, January 25, 2024, in St. Oscar Romero Parish Patrick St. Patrick Church 317 West Pike Street Canonsburg.
