Mary E. (Rakar) Royer age 96 of Canonsburg, died Thursday, May 26, 2011 in Canonsburg General Hospital.
She was born August 30, 1914 in Brillant, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Maguschak Rakar.
Mrs. Royer was a devote homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Ann Baker of Canonsburg, with whom she made her home with, Roberta (Jim) Bowden of Mt. Lebanon, three grandchildren, Jeanette (Steve) Sanders, Suzanne (Jeff) Wybranowski, Daniel Bowden, three great-grandchildren, Lauren and Caitlyn Sanders and Wyatt Wybranowski and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Royer was the last of her immediate family
On June 29, 1939 she married her beloved husband, Robert John Royer, who died February 9, 1966.
Deceased also are five sisters, Anna Popovich, Elizabeth Rebosky, Susanne Kozlosky, Helen Hundzinski and Margaret Kraf, and two brothers, John and Joeseph Rakar.
Friends are welcome on Friday, May 27, 2011 from7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Salandra Funeral Service, Inc.; Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120, where Blessing Service will be held Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 9:00 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30 AM in St. Patrick Church, Canonsburg. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, family suggest donations be made to St. Patrick Church in memory of Mrs. Royer.
