Mary C. Mastrangelo age 74 of Muse died at 10:02 pm Tuesday December 6, 2011 in her home, followed by a lengthy illness, surrounded by her family. She was born January 23, 1937 in McDonald a daughter of the late George and Kathryn Wallack Kozak.
Mrs. Mastrangelo lived most of her life in Muse, where she was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church. She had been employed at both Cataneo's Market in McMurray and Penner's in Muse. Prior to her retirement she had been employed at Rosner's Dress Shop in Canonsburg. She was a homemaker, who enjoyed cooking and talk radio, especially political shows and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates Fan.
On April 28, 1953 she married Frank A. Mastrangelo Sr. who died March 25, 1997. Surviving are two daughters, Rhonda (Greg) Felton of Houston and Christine (David) Barton of Canonsburg, Mark (Rebecca) Mastrangelo of Henderson, Nevada and Kevin (Rae Lynn) Mastrangelo of Venetia, eight grandchildren Matthew (Maria) Felton, Lindsey and Amanda Felton, Jared and Mitchell Barton, Melia, Mario and Nicco Mastrangelo, a great grandson Gregory Mellert, a brother George E. (Jane) Kozak of Washington and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents is a son Frank A. Mastrangelo Jr. who died May 25, 1989 and a brother Bernard James Kozak who died November 29, 2008.
Friends are welcome from 2-8pm Friday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a blessing service will be held at 9 am Saturday, December 10, 2011. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am Saturday in Holy Rosary church, Muse, with Reverend George T. DeVille, as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters, Twp. The Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Holy Rosary Church.
