Mary Lou Marinelli,93, of Pittsburgh passed away peacefully, Saturday morning, March 8, 2025. She was born July 18,1931, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Martin A. and Emma M.Bech Michel. Mary Lou lived in Upper St. Clair since 1980 and had been a member of St. Thomas Moore Roman Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic minister. Prior to her retirement she was Senior Vice President of Presbyterian University Hospital and Director of National and International Programs at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh. On May 5, 1973, she married Alber M “Pogo” Marinelli who passed away May 10, 1997. Left behind to cherish her memory are several beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mary Lou was the last of her immediate family. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents, are her brother, Paul A. Michel; and sisters, Anna Marie Michel and Margaret C. Deasy; and her beloved dog Gigi.
Friends and family are welcome from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday March 11, 2025, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, in St Thomas Moore Church 126 Fort Couch Road, Bethel Park. Those attending please meet at church. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Twp. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions, may be made to Resurrection Parish, St. Thomas Moore Church.
