Mary "Mimi" Jacobs, beloved wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on April 20, 2014 surround by her family. Mrs. Jacobs was known and loved for her feisty personality. She took great pride in her grandchildren, her garden, her housekeeping, and her bargain shopping.

Mrs. Jacobs, age 86, lived in Chartiers Township for most of her life. She was born June 9, 1927 in Export a daughter of the late Frank and Mary D. Halucka Antosh. She was the beloved wife of 63 years to the late Joseph A. Jacobs. She is survived by her three children, Ernest Richard (Sharon) Jacobs of Bridgeville, Mary Susan "Greta" Belis of Bradenton, FL and Sallie (William) Dunn of Eighty Four; her nine grandchildren, Alisha (Jason) Roberts, Rebecca Dunn, Jennifer (Dan) Bell, Jonathan (Heather) Jacobs, Jessica Dunn (Carl Engman), Joseph (Caroline) Belis, Sabrina (Michael) Leshko, Peter (Angela) Belis, and Rachel (Herschel) Kirker; and her fourteen great-grandchildren; Lauren, A.J., Natalie, Nico, Anna B., Anna L., Daphne, Emelia, Ethan, Blake, Isaac, Linnea, Claire, and Tyler. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Chloe Belis; and her eight siblings, John "Turk" Antosh, Stanley "Tit" Antosh, Josephine Kumer, Jeannette Pretka, Helen Kowalski, and Frank Antosh as well as two brothers Walter and Henry who died in infancy. She was a longtime member of St. Patrick's Parish in Canonsburg.

Mrs. Jacobs worked for many years at Klein's Restaurant in downtown Pittsburgh. She raised three children with Joe and was an important figure in the lives of her nine grandchildren, often caring for them in her home when they were sick. After her retirement, she worked part time at Giant Eagle in McMurray where she was known for her great customer service and colorful outspokenness. For the past 18 months, she was a resident of Paramount Senior Living, where she was such a social butterfly that it was difficult to reach her in her room. She lived every minute of her life to the fullest, was a welcoming host to all she knew, had a generous spirit, and a heart full of love.

The family wishes to thank all of the individuals who cared for her, especially the generous and kind-hearted caregivers at Paramount Senior Living and Country Meadows.

Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday, April 24, 2014 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, Owner/Supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120 where departing prayer will be recited at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 25, 2014 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Patrick's Church. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray, PA. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to St. Jude Research Hospital.
