Rachel Cregut age 85 of Houston Died Saturday July 10, 2010 in Donnell House Washington following a lengthy illness. She was born August 5, 1924 in Donora a daughter of the late Anthony and May Rachel Montequin Gomez.
Mrs. Cregut served with the United States Army as a Surgical Technician during World War II and had been employed as a stenographer at the Oliver Iron Steel Corporation in the South Side of Pittsburgh. She was a member of St. Patrick church in Canonsburg. Mrs. Cregut lived in Houston since 1951 where she was a member of the American Legion Post 902, and the Chartiers Houston Senior Citizens.
On November 11, 1951 she married Ferdinand (Fritz) Cregut who died November 25,
1992. She is survived by two sons, Freddie Cregut of Houston and Robert (Christina) Cregut of Washington a sister, Gloria Loffert of Killeen Texas, three grandchildren Carllie Cregut, Robert A. Cregut and Christopher D. Cregut and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband is a sister Pat Samuel.
Friends are welcome from 1pm -8pm Tuesday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a blessing service will be held at 10 am Wednesday July 14, 2010. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens McMurray with full military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 902 of Houston and the V.F.W. post 191 of Canonsburg.
