Marie K. DeLost age 87 of Strabane passed away Wednesday March 28, 2012 in Canonsburg General Hospital following an extended illness. She was born January 2, 1925 in Canonsburg a daughter of the late Adolfo and Catherine Natole Giacomelli. Mrs. DeLost lived in Strabane for the past 63 years where she was a member of the SNPJ lodge 138 and the KSKJ St. Jerome lodge 153. She had been a member and past Worthy Matron of the Chariters Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star lodge number 97. Mrs. DeLost had a warm personality and a great zeal for life. She loved music, dancing and games. It was quite common for her to host family and guests at her home of 63 years. Often, at night, she would challenge her sharp mind with a mystery television show or a game of solitaire on the computer prior to dozing off in her favorite chair. More than anything, Mrs. DeLost loved her family and treated them with great care and affection.
On January 22, 1949 she married Frank J. DeLost Sr. who survives. Also surviving are her children Barbara (Charles) Swatek of Baltimore MD., Frank J. DeLost Jr. of Moon Twp., Anthony Paul (Beverly) DeLost of Houston Texas and Mary Kay DeLost of Greensburg, three grandchildren; Gregory Paul Delost, Charlotte Marie (Zachary) Sandkuhler and Brian Charles Swatek a great granddaughter Caroline Marie Sandkuler and several nieces and nephews.
