Margaret R. Puchany, 91 of Canonsburg passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 18, 2017 in St. Clair Hospital.
She was born on January 20, 1926 in Bulger a daughter of Slavko and Mary Shearson Prebeg who preceded her in death.
On September 19, 1953 she married James A. Puchany, Sr., who preceded her in death on August 2, 2001.
Mrs. Puchany was a 1944 graduate of Union High School in Burgettstown. She was a faithful member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg.
She was a cafeteria manager for Canon-McMillan School District until her retirement.
She had many interests which included reading, cooking, baking, solving crossword puzzles and was a member of a card club who met regularly in Canonsburg.
She is survived by her only son James A. Puchany, Jr. (Maura) of Cecil and her beloved daughter Jamie L. Michalka (John) of Canonsburg, two grandchildren Jay Anthony Michalka (Jennifer) and Austin James Puchany, one great grandchild Josephine Marie Michalka and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, John Prebeg, Sr., and Michael Prebeg, and two sisters Marie Schons and Helen Navoski.
Friends are welcome from 2~8 PM on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
