Margaret A. (Shaffer) McMillin

Margaret A. “Peg” McMillin, 88 of Houston passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 12, 2017 in her home.

She was born on May 12, 1929 in Newell the daughter of Harry Allen and Louise Kremer Shaffer who preceded her in death.

Mrs. McMillin was a veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps. She was a member of the Marine Corps League and the Mon Valley Leathernecks.

She was Pentecostal by faith. In her leisure time she enjoyed reading and knitting. For many years she lived in the Houston-Canonsburg area.

She is survived by her only son, Robert T. McMillin, her beloved sister Dollie Parascenzo both of Canonsburg and two grandchildren Cassidy T. and Connor Shea McMillin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Thomas A. Shaffer who passed away October 6, 2007.

Friends are welcome from 4~8 PM on Monday, June 19, 2017 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120 where services will be held at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville at 1:30 PM. Full military rites will be accorded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 Honor Guard and the United States Marine Corps.
