Madelyn R. Donaldson age 90 of Canonsburg, died Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 8:40 PM in Canonsburg General Hospital.
She was born June 19, 1919 in Canonsburg, the daughter of Erik G. and Valfrida Rumstedt.
Mrs. Donaldson lived her entire life in Canonsburg where she graduated from Canonsburg High School and was a member of Chartiers Hill Presbyterian Church for nearly 59 years.
She was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Donaldson was an avid reader and bridge player. She enjoyed gardening and playing piano and belonged to the order of the Eastern Star Organization.
On July 16, 1949 she married Dr. William "Bud" Donaldson, who died on July 1, 1984.
Surviving are daughter, Marilyn "Jim" Dailer of Wheeling, W.V.; three grandchildren, Megan Renee Dailer of Charlotte N.C.; Erin Elizabeth Dailer of Chicago, Ill.; and Matthew Bryson Dailer of Huntington, W.V.
Deceased are one sister and one brother.
Friends are welcome on Monday, June 14, 2010 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am the time of the Service at Chartiers Hill Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Donald Austin officiating. Interment will take place at Chartiers Hill Cemetery, Canonsburg. In lieu of flowers family suggest donations be made to Chartiers Hill Presbyterian Church in memory of Madelyn.
