Lucille S. "Lucy" Heslin, 84, of North Strabane Township passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2015 in ManorCare in Peters Twp., with her family by her side.
She was born in Reading, Pennsylvania on January 29, 1931, a daughter of the late Frank and Gertrude Hilbert Salino.
Lucy was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Parish in Canonsburg. She was also a social member of the VFW Post 191 in Canonsburg, the American Legion Post 902 in Houston, and the White Eagles in Canonsburg.
Lucy loved to travel, especially going on cruises with her husband.
On July 14, 1956 she married her beloved, John J. Heslin, who survives.
Also surviving are her two loving children, John F. (Liz) Heslin of Hickory and Franciene (Jeff) Thompson of North Strabane; five grandchildren, Patrick, Caitlin, and Matt Heslin, all of Hickory, Chad (Carianne) Thompson of South Fayette, and Kelli Grindo of Morgantown; and four great grandchildren, Sawyer Thompson, Pyper and Carson Grindo, and baby girl Thompson, who is due in May.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, is a sister, Betty Poupore.
Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday, March 30, 2015 and from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday, March 31, 2015 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, Lin Webb Funeral Director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a Catholic Blessing Service will begin at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 1, 2015. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
