Lois Gail Maffio

Lois Gail Maffio age 86 of Canonsburg passed away on Thursday September 13, 2012 in her home following a twelve year struggle with Alzheimer's Disease, surrounded by her family. She was born June 10, 1926 in Canonsburg a daughter of the late Roy and Zelma Skiles. She lived her entire life in Canonsburg where she graduated from Canonsburg High School and was a member of St. Patrick Church. Mrs. Maffio had varied employment working with her husband in their Canonsburg businesses over the years.
On January 17, 1947 she married Victor M. Maffio Sr. who died April 1, 2006. She is survived by her daughter Robin Cianelli of Canonsburg and four grandchildren; Victor Cianelli, Wendy, Patrick and Zachary Maffio, a great granddaughter Gianna Fordham and several nieces an nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband are her son Victor M. Maffio Jr. who died August 30, 2000; a brother Bud Skiles and two sisters; Jane Tharp and Patsy Spina. She was the last of her immediate family.
There will be no public visitation. Private family visitation and blessing services will be held on Saturday September 15, 2012 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. Mrs. Maffio's family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Washington County Humane Society.
