Linda Mae Cannon age 61 of Eighty-four died at 2:30pm Tuesday November 23, 2010 in Canonsburg General Hospital following an extended illness. She was born January 16, 1949 in Canonsburg a daughter of the late Russell and Beulah Neely Tinkey.
Mrs. Cannon was a graduate of Canon McMillan Sr. High School and Protestant by faith. Prior to her retirement she had been employed in food service for the Canon-McMillan School District at Wylandville Elementary School. She had lived in Eighty "four since 1985 and was a member of the VFW post 553 of Strabane, American Legion post 902 of Houston and the AGA Club of Canonsburg.
On February 12, 1989 she married William J. Cannon who survives. Also surviving are two sons Pastor John (Cindy) Ayers of Canonsburg and Scott (Beth) Ayers of Houston, a stepson, William Cannon Jr. and a stepdaughter Lisa Cannon both of Washington, a sister Idella (Cookie) McAfee of Avella; six grandchildren Kirsten, Megan and Neal Ayers, Edward Bush Jr., Johnathan Ayers and Christopher Barnes and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cannon also leaves behind her faithful dog Louie.Deceased is a son Timothy Ayers who died at birth and two infant brothers.
Friends are welcome from 2-8pm Friday, November 26, 2010 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner /supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where services will be held at 10 am Saturday November 27, 2010 with her son, Pastor John Ayers of Harvest Time Chapel, officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. Mrs. Cannons family suggest memorial contributions be made to Wylandville Elementary School or the American Cancer Society.
