Lillian "Lil" S. Christy, age 90 of Houston, died at Consulate Health Care after a seven-year struggle with Alzheimer's.
She was born on November 13, 1920 in Washington, PA, to Michael and Nellie Schmitt-Losko.
A lifelong member of St. Patrick's Church and the Christian Mothers, Mrs. Christy lived most of her life in Houston, where she enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels and working for the Daily Notes.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who each week, looked forward to attending Sunday morning mass with her husband and going out for coffee and donuts afterwards.
She was the last of her immediate family.
On July 24, 1954, she married Samuel R. Christy, her late, beloved husband of fifty years.
Lil is survived by two daughters-Joyce (Kevin) Martin of Williamsburg, VA, and Sandy (Vince) Trotnick of McMurray-as well as five grandchildren-Jennifer and Nicole Martin and Vinny, Christy, and Amy Trotnick-and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects on Saturday, May 14, 2011 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Salandra Funeral Service, Inc.; Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at St. Patrick's Church. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Canonsburg. Family suggest that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Via Quest Hospice, 610 Park Ave., Monongahela, PA 15063
