Lillian E. "Lil " Plopa Berger, 92, of Strabane passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2015 surrounded by her loved ones at the Washington County Health Center.

She was born in Cuddy, Pa. on March 3,1923 a daughter of the late John P. and Mary Grublesky Plopa.

Lillian graduated Valedictorian from South Fayette High School and later from Penn Commercial School, where she earned a Business Degree.

During her early adulthood, she worked at the RCA Plant. Lillian later became employed at YDC in Canonsburg, Mayview State Hospital, and Woodville State Hospital, where she retired after 27 years as a Payroll Supervisor.

Lillian, a beautiful person, enjoyed her life before becoming afflicted with Alzheimer's Disease. She was and avid bowler, being captain of her team. She traveled, loved dancing and reading, gardening, and card playing. She was a devoted Mother and Grandmother and loved her dog Snoopy, who died October 2014.

Surviving are a daughter Joyce ( Dennis Fedorchak) Andy of Monongahela; one brother, Alfred Plopa of Bridgeville; three grandchildren, Holly (Mike) Andy Innamorato of Pittsburgh, Benjamin Andy of Strabane, and Dayna (Chuck) Berger Yeager of Canonsburg; three great grandchildren, Mikaylah Snedeker, Giovanni Innamorato, and Marley Katko Andy; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a son Jack L. Berger, who passed away in 1985; one sister, Julia Kinnan; and two brothers, Edward and Bennie Plopa.

Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, Lin Webb Funeral Director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will begin at 9:30 AM on Thursday, March 12, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 10:00 AM in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Parish, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
