Leslie G. Ward, 62, of Canonsburg, formerly of Washington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 2014 in her home.
She was born on June 23, 1952 in Monongahela, the daughter of the late Jack and Lois Jones Ward.
Leslie was a 1970 graduate of Washington High School. After 30 devoted years, she retired in 2011 from Overnite Trucking in Meadow Lands.
A true Steelers fan, she was an intelligent, witty, thrifty, independent, thoughtful, and caring person who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She also enjoyed growing flowers.
Left to cherish her memory are her two beloved sons, Richard J. (Carrie) Hryniewich of Norfolk, VA and Brian (Katy) Hryniewich of Canonsburg; two grandchildren whom she adored, Alison and Tyler Hryniewich, both of Canonsburg; her cherished companion of 29 years, Bill Martin of Canonsburg; her Aunt Helen Weygandt of Monongahela; and several cousins who loved her dearly.
An animal lover, she also leaves behind her two pups, Ricky and Lucy.
In addition to her parents, her brother Robert "Bob" Ward is also deceased.
Friends are welcome from 2:00-6:00 PM on Sunday, November 16, 2014 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, Lin Webb Funeral Director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a funeral service will begin at 6:00 PM with Pastor Justin Myers officiating.
