Leon Popiolkowski

Leon Popiolkowski age 84 of Canonsburg, human life ended and spiritual life began on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at North Strabane Rehabilitation and Wellness Center. He was born October 14, 1936 in Canonsburg, the son of the late Leo and Mary Spilak Popiolkowski.

Leon was a graduate of Canonsburg High School and a life-long resident of Canonsburg. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. For 50 years, Leon worked as an engineer for McGraw Edison and then as an independent contractor for ten years.

Leon was a member of St. Patrick Church of St. Oscar Romero Parish and an avid horse player.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of 65 years, Georgia Krist Popiolkowski; son Mark Popiolkowski and grandson Ellis Popiolkowski, both of Canonsburg.

Family and friends are welcome on Monday, May 3, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. at Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, LFD owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will be recited on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at 9:40 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg.
