Leon Albert (Junie) Golick Jr., age 73 of Houston, died Thursday July 28, 2011 in Townview, Canonsburg. He was born September 4, 1937 in Canonsburg a son of the late Leo Albert and Anna Nanhay Sr.
Mr Golick had been a coal miner and prior to his retirement had been employed for 18 years in the produce department of the McMurray Giant Eagle. He was a member of United Mine Workers Local 1634, Teamsters Local 23, the Lone Pine Volunteer Fire Department, and had been a Boy Scout Leader. He lived most of his life in Houston and was Catholic by faith.
On August 14, 1982 he married Dorothy June Surich who survives. Also surviving are four sons Leon Joseph (Linda) Golick of Prosperity, John Daniel Golick, Jack William Golick And Michael Albert Golick all of Washington, a stepson Allan James (Heather)Waraksa of Elco, two daughters, Sandy Marie (Dwight) Mitchell of Maryland and Betty Jane "B.J." (Matt) Ullom of Washington, a stepdaughter Brenda Lee Renz of McDonald, a sister Patricia Ungvari of Canonsburg six grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are welcome from 6-8pm Sunday and from 2-4 and 6-8pm Monday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a blessing service will be held at 10am Tuesday August 2, 2011. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Twp.
