Lena Nackoul

1917 — 2019

Lena Nackoul age 102 of Canonsburg passed away Monday December 16, 2019 in Canonsburg General Hospital with her daughters by her side. She was born in Lawrence, a daughter of the late Alberico and Matia Bruno Leonardi. Mrs. Nackoul was raised in Muse and lived most of her life in Canonsburg where she was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers and Guild. She was a graduate of Cecil High School and had been employed at ALCOA during World War II. Lena had been a secretary for Tomsic Motor Company, a notary public and a secretary with the Canon-McMillan School District for 19 years. She enjoyed reading, flowers and crocheting and most of all loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her daughter’s dog Ollie. On June 3, 1950 she married Albert Nackoul who passed away January 17, 2008 after 58 years of marriage. Left behind to cherish her memory are her two beloved daughters Linda Knight and her husband Robert of Houston and Marta Odoski (Greg Huston) of Elizabeth, three grandchildren Phillip (Nicole) Knight, Clayton Knight and Kristy Knight, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Lena was the last of her immediate family. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are three sisters; Rose Cardinale, Clara Rozanc and Mary Iannarelli and her brother Harry Leonardi.

Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8pm Thursday December19, 2019 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will be recited at 9:30am Friday December 20, 2019. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am in St. Patrick Church 317 West  Pike Street Canonsburg. Interment will follow in St. George Cemetery, Bridgeville. The Christian Mothers and Guild of St. Patrick Church will recite the rosary Thursday at 2pm in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels and Gallagher Hospice.
