Laraine Stultz Pruce of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side, Friday, September 19, 2014, a day after her 70th birthday in Donnell House, Washington following a lengthy and courageous battle with Myelofibrosis. She was born in Republic on September 18, 1944 a daughter of the late Lawrence C. Stultz and Mildred Depcrynski Stultz who passed away July 1, 2014. Mrs. Pruce lived most of her life in Canonsburg. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church where she enjoyed being a longtime choir member. She was a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School class of 1962 and Duffs Business School, and was the office manager for Dr. Robert L. Pruce DMD. Mrs. Pruce most enjoyed spending time with her family. An exceptional cook, she was known for baking her delicious cakes.
On September 3, 1966 she married John R. "Bob" Pruce Jr. who survives. Also surviving are her daughter, Sherri L. Pruce and her son Robert (Michele) Pruce DMD both of Canonsburg, two grandsons; Jonathan Abbondanza and Ethan Pruce, and a third grandson, Noah Pruce who was born September 21, 2014; a brother Larry (Barb) Stultz of Washington and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents are two sisters Patricia Geho and Jacqueline McClelland.
Mrs. Pruces' family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Ayalew Tefferi MD, her hematologist at the Mayo Clinic.
Friends are welcome from 6-8pm Sunday and from 2-8pm Monday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, Lin Webb, FD. 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will be recited at 9:30am Tuesday September 23, 2014. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Tuesday in St. Patrick Church 317 West Pike Street Canonsburg. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Patrick's Choir.
