Kenneth Felton age 98 of Canonsburg passed away peacefully at 6:15 am Friday January 9, 2014 in Consulate Retirement Village of North Strabane following a brief illness.
He was born November 13, 1916 in Midway a son of the late Harry and Mary Campbell Felton. Mr. Felton lived most of his life in Canonsburg where he was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. He served with the United States Marines during World War II and prior to his retirement after 40 years he had been employed as a freight conductor by the Pennsylvania Railroad and Conrail. He was a member of the Muse Independent Club and the American Legion Post
# 485 of McDonald.
On May 3, 1941 in St. Mary's Church, Cecil he married Mary L. Yanosik who passed away July 12, 2005. Surviving are his son Greg (Rhonda) Felton of Houston, four grandchildren; Matthew (Maria) Felton, Lindsey Felton, Amanda Felton and Jennifer (Scott) Snyder, two great grandsons; Gregory Felton Mellert and Noah Snyder, a sister Vera (Gerald) Miller of Midway and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to his wife and parents are a son Kenneth Felton a grandson Kenny Lee Felton, a sister Hilda Cauchie and three brothers Howard, Thomas and Ralph "Rass" Felton.
Friends are welcome from 2-8pm Sunday in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, Lin Webb funeral director 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will be recited at 9:30 am Monday January 12, 2015. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 am Monday in St. Patrick Church 317 West Pike Street Canonsburg. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Peters Twp. Meals on Wheels.
