Kathryn R. (Glass) Simpson

Kathryn R. Simpson, 97, of Houston passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2015 in Consulate Health Care of North Strabane.

She was born on September 1, 1918 in Midland, a daughter of the late Anthony and Thresa Glass.

Kathryn was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg where she was also a member of the Christian Mothers and Guild.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

On February 25, 1941 she married Vene C. Simpson, who passed away on December 19, 1995.

Surviving is her beloved son, Charles V. (Ramona) Simpson of Canonsburg; two precious grandchildren, Victoria M. (Bill) Eleamos of Houston and Zachary C. Simpson of Canonsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert W. Simpson and eight siblings, Jack Glass, Joseph Glass, Jim Glass, Anthony Glass, Elizabeth Meek, Minnie Cox, Margaret “Peg” Fox, and Rosie Romano.

Kathryn was the last of her immediate family.

Family and friends are welcome from 2-8 PM on Sunday, September 13, 2015 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, Lin Webb Funeral Director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will begin at 9:30 AM on Monday, September 14, 2015.  A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 10:00 AM in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg.  Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven, McMurray.
