Kathryn M. "Katie" Brice, 98, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Friday, May 23, 2014 at Humbert Lane Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre.
She was born, one of eleven children, on April 12, 1916 in Arden, the daughter of the late John and Mariann Fibiny Urbanic. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She spent the majority of her life in Meadowlands prior to relocating to Washington. Catholic by faith, she never missed Sunday worship services in the six years she resided at Humbert Lane.
On October 18, 1934 she married Raymond A. Brice, who passed away in 1985.
Surviving are her two beloved daughters, Jacqueline (deceased Harry) Cloud of Houston and Scheryl (Don) Corle of Hague, VA; a granddaughter, Vonnie (Barry) Kovatch of Meadowlands; two great grandchildren, Joshua and Jessica Kovatch, both of Meadowlands; and a great-great granddaughter, Jaycee Kovatch, also of Meadowlands. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her four brothers, six sisters, and her grandson, Raymond Cloud.
At the request of Mrs. Brice, a private funeral service for her family was held on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 with Pastor Todd Stemple of Central Assembly of God officiating. Interment followed in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
