Kathleen A. Samila

Kathleen A. Samila age 64 of Washington passed away peacefully Sunday January 12, 2025, in Washington Hospital. She was born October 27, 1960, in Washington, a daughter of the late Steve and Dorothy Jackson Samila. Kathy was a lifelong resident of Washington and a faithful member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Canonsburg. She was a graduate of Trinity High School, class of 1978, and received her Pharmacy Degree from Duquesne University. Kathy enjoyed Word Search Puzzles, traveling, when she was able and spending time with her family and beloved and faithful dog Barkley. Most of all, she enjoyed helping others more than herself. Left behind to cherish her memory is her brother Leslie Samila, her sister Michele (Kevin) Pusateri, brother-in-law Pete Locante. Nieces, Nicole (Donny) Lohr, Samantha (Rob) Witteman, nephews Phil (Bri) Locante and Joshua (Kelly) Pusateri, 4 great nieces and a great nephew, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Deceased in addition to her parents is her sister Deborah Locante and sister-in-law Kimberly Samila. 

Friends and family are welcome from 2-8 pm Thursday January 16, 2025, in SALANDRA FUINERAL and CREMATION SERVICES, INC. Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg (724) 745-8120 where departing prayers will be recited at 9:30 am Friday January 17, 2025. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 am in St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church 166 East College Street Canonsburg with Reverend Joseph Raptosh as celebrant.
