Katherine V. "Kush" Pastovich

Katherine V. Pastovich age 80 of Canonsburg passed away Sunday March 31, 2013 in Washington Hospital with her loving family by her side. Known by many as Kush, she was born March 4, 1933 in Canonsburg a daughter of the late William and Viola Modlinski Laskowski, she lived most of her life in Canonsburg where she was a 50 year member of Chartiers Hill Presbyterian Church. It was fitting that she went to be with Jesus on Easter Sunday morning. Mrs. Pastovich loved all animals, reading, and doing crossword and word search puzzles. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Steelers, Pirates and golf on television. A graduate of Trinity High School and Penn Commercial she held many positions during her lifetime. She had worked at the Canonsburg Pottery Co. for 25 years, RCA plant in Meadowlands and prior to her retirement she had been employed in the dietary department of the Greenery in Canonsburg.
On June 7, 1958 she married Gordon L. Pastovich who survives. Also surviving is her daughter Cindy Pastovich of Canonsburg and her "almost grandchildren", Nicholas her loving cat and Mason the Black Lab granddog and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Pastovich was the last of her immediate family. Deceased in addition to her parents are four brothers; Edward, Albert, Herman and Theodore Laskowski and six sisters; Eleanor and Elizabeth Todderdale, Dorothy and Florence Laskowski, Gertrude Rogers and Dolores "Babe' Cienoski.
Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8pm Tuesday April 2, 2013 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, 724-745-8120 where services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, April 3, 2013 with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens McMurray.
