June W. DiSibio, 89, of North Strabane, passed away, with her loving family by her side, on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Canonsburg.

She was born June 14, 1925 in Sidman, PA, the daughter of the late Ernest and Gertrude Wooliston Ward.

A member of the Tri County Federation of Musicians Local # 592, June's passion was singing. She began her singing career with the Joe Carson's Trio and at the age of 16 began singing with Lee Barrett's Orchestra. She went on to record "Goodbye Sweetheart" with Abbey Records in New York, where they also offered her a recording contract. Until the age of 83 June continued to sing, ending her lifelong career with the Summer Winds. In addition, June also sang with the St. Patrick's Church Choir. She devoted her time and served as Leader with the Girl Scouts and was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

On November 27, 1944 she married Dr. Carl A. DiSibio, who passed away on February 3, 2005.

Surviving are her beloved children, Carl E. "Skip" (Linda Jaap) DiSibio of North Strabane, Sheila DiSibio (Donel) Williams of Washington, and Kenneth J. (Kathryn) DiSibio of Venetia; a brother, Robert (Nancy) Ward of Houston; her grandchildren, Lindsay DiSibio Ulam, Kristin DiSibio (Kurt) Subrick, Caitlin DiSibio (Brian) Hill, Christopher (Jackie) Marshman, Jodi Lin Marshman (Eric) Hazelton, Cari Ann Marshman (Andy) Lash, Joshua Samuel (Melanie) Marshman, Brandy (Joel) Pagan, Damon (Lindsey) Williams, Alexandra Williams, and Jason (Kathy) DiSibio; her great grandchildren, Ryan, Michael, Olivia, and Cole Ulam, Chloe and Chase Subrick, Mason Hill, Maddison, Hunter, and Mason Marshman, Javin Hazelton, Landon Marshman, Julian Bruno, Xavier and Illeanette Pagan, and Giuseppe and Atalia Williams; nieces, Carol "Cookie" Lombardi and Jennifer Scarci; and a nephew, Robert Ward. Also deceased is her sister, Evelyn Dodd.

Friends are welcome on Monday, June 23, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a funeral service will begin on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
