Julia Tomsic, 97, of Canonsburg, died Tuesday January 13, 2009 at 10:50 AM in Washington Hospital.
She was born November 15, 1911 in Strabane, the daughter of Peter and Frances Pitaszewska Kukis.
Mrs. Tomsic was a member of St. Patrick Church and the Christian Mothers. She also was a member of the K.S.K.J. St. Jerome Lodge, Strabane. Mrs. Tomsic was a homemaker, she enjoyed her family, playing bingo and traveling.
On June 12, 1937 she married Frank Tomsic who died February 1, 1972.
Surviving are two daughters, Joyce Iannarelli of Houston and Donna (Randy) Cope of Sand Point, Idaho.
Five grandchildren Anthony and Frank Iannarelli, Jodi Lyscik, and Jeremy and Jonathan Cope, five great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are five brothers, Frank, William, Peter, Michael and Leon Kukis, and three sisters Anna Blankey, Mary Turko, and Frances Studzinsky.
Mrs. Tomsic was the last of her immediate family.
Friends will be received on Friday 2-4 and 6-8 PM in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, where a Blessing Service will be held at 9:00 AM, Saturday, January 17. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30 AM in St. Patrick's Church, Canonsburg. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery
