Joyce D. Spiker, 69, of Houston passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015 in her home, with her loving family by her side.
She was born on September 19, 1946 in Washington, a daughter of the late Archie and Martha Fisher Wylie.
Joyce graduated from Chartiers-Houston High School in 1964. She was a long-time member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Houston. As an adult, she pursued her dream and furthered her education at Allegheny General Hospital and became a Registered Nurse. Joyce was a Registered Nurse for UPMC, Cigna Healthcare, and Highmark prior to retiring from Family Home Health in Washington in 2011. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, listening to music, knitting, crocheting, and spending time on her computer. Above all, Joyce loved her family.
On September 19, 1964 she married her loving husband, Eugene J. Spiker, who survives.
Also surviving are two beloved children, Darren E. (Robin) Spiker of Houston and Dana M. (Randy A.) Rusin of Houston; three grandsons, Sabian L. (April) Spiker, Nathan A. (Sara) Daniels, and Jaden L. Spiker; a great granddaughter, Kadance M. Spiker; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, James M. Wylie and a sister, Phyllis Gress.
Friends are welcome from 2:00-6:00 PM on Sunday, November 29, 2015 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, Lin Webb funeral director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM Monday, November 30, 2015. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
