Josephine "Toots" Rybacki age 87 of Houston passed away unexpectedly Tuesday December 30, 2014 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born June 26, 1927 in Bulger a daughter of the late Benedict and Mary Bulowicz Urban. Mrs.Rybacki lived most of her life in the Canonsburg and Houston areas. She was a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Meadow Lands, the Christian Mothers and Guild, Rosary Society and RCA retirees. In her youth she had been employed at the Hendersonville Mine Company Store and the Navy plant during World War II. She was then employed at the RCA record plant in Canonsburg and RCA in Meadow Lands. On May 7, 1960 she married Thomas J. Rybacki who passed away March 22, 2003.
Mrs. Rybacki is survived by her daughter Susan Rybacki of Houston, a sister Helen Katrencik of Houston and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are three sisters; Veronica Strnisha, Ann Zadakis and Mary Stroud and three brothers; Joseph, Stanley and John Urban.
Friends are welcome from 2-8pm Friday January 2, 2015 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will be recited at 11:30am Saturday January 3, 2014. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church 300 Pike Street Meadow Lands with Reverend Carmen D'Amico, pastor as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Twp. The rosary will be recited at 2pm Friday in the funeral home.
