Joseph L. Rolek age 83 of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully, Wednesday morning, November 13, 2024, in Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg. He was born September 29, 1941, in Brownsville, and he was the son of the late George R and Marie Mailo Rolek. He lived in Canonsburg for 81 years and attended St. Oscar Romero Parish St. Patrick Church with his wife. He proudly served with the United States Navy. After High School and training, he was employed as a service manager with Hankinson Corporation, where he had been employed for all his professional life. During his career Joe traveled all over the world, setting up and repairing many projects. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time at his camp at Mt. Jewett, in McKeen County. Joe was member of the VFW Post 191 in Canonsburg where he was a faithful member of the Honor Guard, and the American Legion Post 902 in Houston. His beloved wife Patricia “PJ” Duke Rolek passed away July 2, 2022. Left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Josph R. Rolek and his wife Debra of Jeanette and his daughter Jody M. Rolek of Washington, his dear granddaughter Morgan C. Rolek, his brother George “Sonny” Rolek of Eighty-Four, sisters Caroleen Saulsberry of Loan Pine and Bernadine (Warren) Dernoshek of Cecil Twp., many nieces and nephews and his faithful dog Sophie. Deceased in addition to his wife and parents is his brother Frederick Ray Rolek who passed away December 27, 2008.

 Friends and family are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday November 19, 2024, in SALANDRA FUNERAL and CREMATION SERVICES, INC. Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner /supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg (724) 745-8120 where Catholic blessing services will be held at 11:30 am Wednesday November 20, 2024. Interment with Full Military Honors will be accorded by the VFW post 191 Honor Guard and the United States Navy at 12:30 pm in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Twp.
