Joseph P. Kader, 79, of North Strabane Twp., passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015 in Canonsburg Hospital.

He was born in Kingston, PA on May 20, 1935, a son of the late Joseph J. and Helen Matusavge Kader.

Joe proudly served his country in Germany with the United States Army from 1954-1959. He was a member of the VFW Post 191 in Canonsburg, American Legion Post 902 in Houston, and the White Eagles in Canonsburg. After many devoted years, Joe retired from Overnight trucking in Meadowlands. In addition to fishing and boating, Joe enjoyed shooting pool. He was a member of the pool league with the E and E Club in Library. He was also a member of the APA League.

On November 28, 1964 he married Kathleen M. Deal Kader, who survives. In addition to his beloved wife, Joe is also survived by his son, Alan Kader of Salisbury, NC; three daughters, Kathy (James) Zeremenko of North Strabane, Carol (Steve Reidenbaugh) Taylor of Avella, and Karen (Josh Pettit) Kader of North Strabane; a brother, William (Marlyn) Kader of Maryland; twelve grandchildren, Michael (Rachel) Bruce, Jennifer Taylor, Joshua Kozak, Alexa Zeremenko, Erica Taylor, Nicole Kozak, Giorgiana Zeremenko, James Zeremenko, Madison Powers, Lauren Powers, Andrew Kader, and Joshua Drake Pettit; one great grandchild, Maci Bruce; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his parents are a son, Christopher Kader and a son-in-law, Robert Boyd Taylor, Jr.

Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Monday, March 2, 2015 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, Lin Webb Funeral Director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will begin at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11:00 AM in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Parish, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Interment, with full military honors accorded by the VFW Post 191 Honor Guard, will follow at 12:30 PM in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Twp.
