Joseph V. Dusza, 88, of Houston passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2015 in the Donnell House, Washington, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on April 6, 1927 in Canonsburg, the son of the late Vincent and Mary Gulyban Dusza.
Joe was a 1945 graduate of Cecil High School. He proudly served his country as a Private First Class with the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II. After many devoted years, he retired in 1990 from McGraw-Edison.
Mr. Dusza enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors. He was also a huge Pittsburgh Pirates baseball fan. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
On November 26, 1955, in St. Patrick Church, he married Rose M. Catalano Dusza, who passed away on August 24, 1999.
Surviving are two beloved daughters, Diane M. (Thomas M. Hutchinson, Sr.) Hutchinson of Canonsburg and Joanne (Ted) Hervol of Irwin; a sister, Irene Addobati of Sacramento, CA; four precious grandchildren, Thomas (Melissa Mercencavage) Hutchinson, Jr. of Philadelphia, Brice Hutchinson of Greentree, Alex Hervol of Irwin, and Jessica Hervol of Irwin; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Malone, Maye Dorosh, and Julia Dusza.
Family and friends are welcome from 2-8 PM on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, Lin Webb funeral director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will begin at 9:30 AM Thursday, October 8, 2015. A Mass of Christian burial will immediately follow at 10:00 AM in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Canonsburg.
