Joseph S. Arnone age 85 of Houston died Wednesday March 14, 2012 in Allegheny General Hospital. He was born October 28, 1926 in Meyersdale a son of the late Samuel F. and Carmella Ross Arnone. He lived in Houston since 1947 and was a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Meadow Lands. Mr. Arnone served with the United States Army Air Corps during World War II and the Air Force reserves for 23 years. He had been employed as an electrician at the Irvin Works of the United States Steel Corporation. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Counsel 3291 of Canonsburg, the American Legion Post 902 of Houston and the Air force Sergeants Association.
Surviving are two sisters Catherine Gennocro of Canonsburg and Beatrice (Enrico) Roncace of Houston a brother Anthony (Victoria) Arnone of Houston and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a brother Phillip Arnone.
Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8pm Friday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg ,where a blessing service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday March 17, 2012, with the reverend Carmen D'Amico, pastor, as celebrant. Interment in St's Phillip and James Cemetery, Meyersdale will be private. Full Military rites will be accorded by the American Legion post 902 of Houston and the VFW post 191 of Canonsburg. Knights of Columbus services will be held at 7pm Friday in the funeral Home. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in honor of Joseph.
