John Wesley Michalka 65 of Canonsburg passed away peacefully Sunday morning July 31, 2022, in St. Clair Hospital with his devoted wife by his side. He was born October 10, 1956, in Canonsburg a son of the late John Jr. and Rebecca Campbell Michalka. John lived in Canonsburg since 1981 and attended St. Oscar Romero Parish St. Patrick Church. He was a union carpenter with Local 432 and had been employed with Jendoco. John was a drummer who played with polka bands in his younger years. He was an avid golfer and was a former member of the Washington Country Club. On September 1, 1979, he married Jamie Puchany who survives after 42 years of marriage. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his son Jay Anthony Michalka and his wife Jennifer of Brentwood, three beloved grandchildren Josephine Marie, John Paul and Jacob Anthony Michalka, his sisters Marilyn (Bob) Egan of Cranberry Twp., Roberta (Bailey) Cadman of Jefferson Texas, and his brother Rodney (Kate) Michalka of Belton MO, his brother-in-law James (Maura) Puchany of Cecil and several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are welcome from 2 until 6pm Tuesday August 2, 2022, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra LFS owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where Catholic blessing services will be held during visitation.
