John "Bruce" Elton

July 2, 1941 — August 8, 2016

John “Bruce” Elton, 75, of McMurray passed away on Monday, August 8, 2016 in Canonsburg General Hospital, Canonsburg.

He was born on July 2, 1941 in Pittsburgh, the son of the late John A. and Clarice E. Brockmeyer Elton.

Mr. Elton was a proud veteran of the United States Army.  He was a social member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 764 in McMurray.

He enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a proud member of the Indian Four Cylinder Motorcycle Club.  Bruce also enjoyed his collection of numerous antique cars.  He was a former race car driver, racing stock cars on the local tracks.

Surviving is his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Betty Densmore Elton; two loving sons, John Robert “Rob” Elton of South Park and Matthew Reuel Elton and his significant other, Kandice Wallace of Canonsburg; sister, Judy E. Steeb of Venetia; four grandchildren, Lizzy Elton, Allie Payne, Christopher Elton, and Madeline Wallace, all of Canonsburg; and two nephews, Jeff Warner of Bethel Park and John Warner and his wife, Kim of Lancaster County.

Friends are welcome from 5:00-8:00 PM on Monday, August 15, 2016 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, Lin Webb funeral director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120.  Private services and interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Twp.
