John (JT) Telesko age 84 of Canonsburg died Sunday December 20, 2009 in Canonsburg General Hospital following a brief illness. He was born March 21, 1925 in Penowa, Washington County a son of George and Anna Samerecka Telesko.
He attended Cecil High School and served as a Sergeant with the United States Marine Corps during World War II. Mr. Telesko had been employed as a Cement finisher and was a member of the Cement Masons Union. Prior to his retirement he was employed at the former Cooper Industries in Canonsburg. He lived most of his life in Canonsburg where he was a member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church. He was a member of the Russian Brotherhood Organization, Washington County Marine Corp League, VFW post 191 of Canonsburg and the American Legion post 902 in Houston.
On June 27, 1948 he married Evelyn (Effie) Chicarella who survives. Also surviving are two daughters Kristine Ann Lorencz of Banning, California and Tamara (David) Kaiser of Towaco New Jersey , three grandchildren , Amanda Lorencz Matthew and Christopher Kaiser Four sisters Helen (Conrad) Senkinc and Julie (James) Kern both of Canonsburg, Elizabeth (Richard ) Demsher of Houston And Margaret (Theodore) Woycio of New Kensington and several neices and nephews. Deceased are two brothers George and Michael Telesko a sister Ann Terpin and two sisters who died in infancy.
Friends are welcome from 6-8pm Monday and from 2-4 and 6-8pm Tuesday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg where Parastas services will be held at 6pm Tuesday. A blessing service will be held in Salandra Funeral Service on Wednesday December 23, 2009 at 8:30 AM followed by Liturgy in St Johns Orthodox Church, Canonsburg 9:00 AM.
