John M. Livolsi

John M. Livolsi age 79 of South Strabane Twp. formerly of Canonsburg died unexpectedly at 6:25pm Saturday December 29, 2012 in Washington Hospital.
He was born May 16, 1933 in Canonsburg a son of the late Mario and Frances Cammarata Livolsi. Mr. Livolsi lived most of his life in Canonsburg where he was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. He was very active in the church serving as one of the first lectors, member of the parish counsel and trained alter boys for many years. An avid reader he enjoyed sports, especially football. Mr. Livolsi served with the United States Army in the Korean War and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign wars post 191 in Canonsburg. Prior to his retirement he was in quality control at both Universal Cyclops and Jessop Steel Corp. He was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus Counsel 3291 of Canonsburg.
On June 24, 1961 he married Isabella Spinosa who survives. Also surviving are two sons Jeffrey John Livolsi and Kevin Richard Livolsi both of Canonsburg, a daughter Cheryl Marie Livolsi of Pittsburgh, four grandchildren; Sarah Sanders, Matthew and Brian Livolsi and Krista Efaw and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Livolsi was the last of his immediate family. Deceased in addition to his parents is a brother Charles P. Livolsi who died April 2, 1990.
Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8pm Wednesday January 2, 2013 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a blessing service will be held at 9am on Thursday January 3, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at 9:30 am in St. Patrick Church on Thursday. Interment will follow at 11am in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Twp where full military rites will be accorded by the VFW post 191 and the American Legion post 902 combined honor guard. Knights of Columbus counsel 3291 services will be held at 7:30 pm Wednesday in the funeral home.
