John J. Graff

April 12, 1933 – November 10, 2024

John J. Graff, age 91, a lifelong resident of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2024.

Born April 12, 1933, to John and Josephine Bondi Graff, John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather

and great-grandfather, whose unwavering love for his family and his community left a lasting impact on all

who knew him.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Carolyn; their four children, Gary Graff (Diane), John Graff

(Barbara), Sharon Sladick (Gary) and Kimberly Grego (Tim).

His grandchildren, Heath Graff (Jami), Brandy Graff, Courtney Ramous (Bill), Maria Bastio, Michelle Griffith

(Corey), Will Doran (Sarah Bayer), Brittany Ardeno (Michael), and Sage Grego (Hannah Palone). He was also

cherished by great-grandchildren Alex and Jase Graff, Gianna and Elise Ramous, Lex, Gunner and Luna

Reynolds, Callahan Griffith and Asher Grego.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Carnahan (Chuck) and his

brother, Joseph Graff (Judy).

John proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 as a member of the 101 st Airborne Division, stationed

in Germany during the Korean War. His service to his country was a testament to his deep sense of duty and

patriotism. A proud graduate of Canonsburg High School in 1951, John was also a lifelong member of St.

Patrick Church, where he served as a Commentator/Lector.

Throughout his life, John was an active member of his community. He was a member of the Train Gang in

Washington, the VFW, the Canonsburg Senior Citizens Center, the Canonsburg-Houston Meals on Wheels

and the Catholic Men’s Club. He also volunteered at Canonsburg Hospital, where he gave of his time to

serve others. A passionate outdoorsman, John loved to fish, hunt and play cards with friends and family.

He retired as a welder from Cooper Industries and, following his retirement, delivered flowers for L&M Flower

Shop. He was a man who always stood firm for what he believed in and fought for the causes that mattered

to him, earning the respect and admiration of those around him.

John’s commitment to his faith, his family and his community was evident in all that he did. His memory will

live through the countless lives he touched with his generosity, kindness and devotion. John will be deeply

missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Friends and family are welcome from 1pm until 7 pm Sunday, November 17, 2024, in SALANDRA FUNERAL and

CREMATION SERVICES, INC. Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg

(724) 745-8120, where departing prayers will be recited at 9:00 am Monday, November 18, 2024. A Mass of

Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am in St. Patrick Church 317 West Pike Street Canonsburg.

Internment with full Military honors accorded by the VFW Post 191 Honor Guard and the United States Army

at 11:00 am in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. The Catholic Men’s Club of St Oscar
