John F. Lucciola Jr.

John F. Lucciola Jr. age 68 of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 22nd, 2024, in Canonsburg Hospital after a three month battle with colon cancer, with his devoted wife and daughter by his side. He was born on May 23rd, 1956, in Canonsburg to the late John F. and Maxine “Dolly” Gudac Lucciola Sr. John was a member of St. Oscar Romero Parish St. Patrick Church and a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School, class of 1974. He had been employed with the Washington Steel Corporation for 26 years until its closing and was a member of the United Steelworkers of America. John was presently employed with Abarta Coca Cola in the warehouse for 16 years. He played softball for many years for the Muse Italian Club and was an avid bowler at the Alpine Club, Jefferson Lanes, The Meadows and the SNPJ Lodge 138 in Strabane, where he was a member. He enjoyed Friday Night Bingo at the SNPJ Lodge and played bass guitar for many years with the Joe Gudac Band and the Imperials. He loved his 1969 Z28 Camaro “Gracie”, and going to car cruises all over the area. On June 17, 1978, John married Teresa DeLuca who survives after 46 years of marriage. He is also survived by his beloved daughter Kayla Mattis and her husband Michael of Finleyville, his cherished grandson Michael John Mattis, his sister Sandra Almo of Canonsburg, former brother-in-law Richard (Kim) Almo of Strabane and several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Friends and family are welcome from 2 until 8 pm Thursday September 26, 2024, in SALANDRA FUNERAL and CREMATION SERVICES, INC. Joseph P. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am in St. Oscar Romero Parish St. Patrick Church 317 West Pike Street Canonsburg. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Canonsburg.
