John Adam DeTemple

May 31, 1930 — December 30, 2008

John Adam DeTemple, 78, died Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 8:14 AM in Canonsburg following a lengthly illness.

He was born in Pittsburgh on May 31, 1930 the son of Frank and Henrietta Jay DeTemple.

Mr. DeTemple was both father and mother to his two children. He will be sadly missed by Karen Gaines.

During the Korean War Mr. DeTemple served in the Army in Germany and Denmark.

Before his retirement in 1985, he was a welder at McGraw Edison Transformer Plant in Canonsburg.

Mr. DeTemple was a member of the American Legion Post 175 in Washington.

On May 29, 1982 he married Ann Springfield who survives.

Also surviving are a son John (Helen Musolino) DeTemple of Washington, a daughter Sharalyn (Thomas) McDonald of Canonsburg; a brother Joseph DeTemple of Arizona, a sister Sue Hixenbaugh of Burgettstown; three grandchildren Beth Ann Surich, David James Kozak and Jon Thomas DeTemple; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two brothers, Frank and Valentine DeTemple and two sisters Marie Karmann and Frances Riggleman.

At the request of the deceased there will be no visitation or services.
