John A. Milik age 90 of Mt. Lebanon, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 11, 2025. He was born December 4, 1934, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Joseph E. and Elizabeth Balog Milik Sr. John was raised in Canonsburg where he was a graduate of Canonsburg High School class of 1952 and a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. Following graduation from the University of Pittsburgh School of Engineering in 1958, he joined Westinghouse Electric, then had a 35 plus year career in the insurance industry, in various roles, including Regional Group Marketing Director. John was also an accomplished trumpet player, that started early in life, which spanned over 60 years playing in big bands and various musical groups. He lived in Mt. Lebanon for over 30 years where he raised his family and was very active as a Boy Scout leader. His lifetime passions included music, Pitt and Steeler Football and golf, where he was an active member at Chartiers Country Club. Left behind to cherish his memory are his devoted children, Elizabeth “Beth” Milik Keith and her husband Michael, his son John P. “Jack” Milik and his wife Maria and his beloved grandchildren Andrew and Caroline Keith and Leonardo and Joseph Milik, all of whom he was very proud. John was the last of his immediate family. Deceased in addition to his parents is his brother, Joseph E. Milik Jr. who passed away in June of 1982.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Saturday, January 25, 2025, in St. Patrick Church of St. Oscar Romero Parish 317 West Pike Street Canonsburg. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. The family respectfully asks that all memorial contributions be made to The Little Sisters of the Poor at https://littlesistersofthepoorpittsburgh.org/.
