Jeffrey K. Thompson, 61 of Canonsburg passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2019 in Allegheny General Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born on October 17, 1957 in Pittsburgh to the late Kenneth K. Thompson and Catherine Murray Thompson who survives.
On August 25, 1979 he married the love of his life and best friend Franciene Heslin who also survives.
Mr. Thompson was a lifetime member of the Peters Township Fire Department as a Fireman and Assistant Chief. He was an avid boater and enjoyed many happy times with his family and friends on the water enjoying his boat. He also had a passion for travel.
Jeffrey had sharp wit, a great personality with a penchant for joking around and making others laugh. His happy disposition and beautiful smile will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Mr. Thompson was devoted to his family and was especially a very proud Bop/Pap T to his grandchildren.
In addition to his beloved wife and mother, he is survived by his son Chad M. Thompson (Carianne) of Peters Township and his daughter Kelli E. Grindo of Morgantown, West Virginia, his brothers Kenneth K. Thompson, Jr. (Sandra) of Hickory and David K. Thompson (Kathleen) of Brentwood, his sister Barbara L. Jones (Jeff) of Canonsburg, his adored grandchildren Sawyer and Harper Thompson and Pyper and Carson Grindo and several nieces and nephews.
He will be sadly missed by man's best friend, his dog Flynn.
Friends are welcome from 2-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, 2019 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, LFD, owner/supervisor and Darla A. Tripoli, LFD, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120 where a Blessing Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2019. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 2900 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317.
