Jean V. Almasy age 81 of Canonsburg, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2011 in her home surrounded by her family.
She was born December 23, 1929 in Canonsburg, the daughter of John and Julia Dombrowski Rogalsky.
Mrs. Almasy lived her entire life in Canonsburg, where she was a member of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church and the P.N.U. Club.
She was a devoted home maker, wife and mother. She retired from Sarris Candies were she work on the assembly line for years. She enjoyed spending time with family, sister-in-laws dogs and reading.
On June 20, 1959 she married Thomas J. Almasy, who passed away on April 19, 2005.
Surviving are two sons, Richard T. Almasy of Dallas TX.; Robert B. (Trish) Almasy of Baltimore, MD.; sister, Helen Bober of Canonsburg, and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased also are three sisters, Francis Chappel, Blanche Costello Mary Plutch, and two brothers, Stanley and Adolph Rogalsky.
Friends are welcome on Saturday from 6 to 8 PM and Sunday from 2 to 8 PM at Salandra Funeral Service, Inc.; Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg,724-745-8120, where Blessing Service will be held Monday, August 22, 2011 at 9:00 AM. Divine Liturgy will follow in St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church at 9:30 AM with Father Joseph Jugan as celebrate. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Garden, McMurray. A Panachida Service will be held Sunday at 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
