Jane L. Verno age 93 of Canonsburg formerly of Houston passed away peacefully Thursday October 3, 2019 in Canonsburg General Hospital with her beloved family by her side. She was born July 2, 1926 in Bentleyville a daughter of the late Melvin Reynolds and Angela Fenimore Jamison. Jane lived most of her life in Houston and was a member of the Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church where she served as treasurer for many years and was a deacon, elder and session member. She was a graduate of Chartiers High School class of 1944 and had been employed as a bookkeeper for Pennsylvania Educational Aids and was an office manager at Washington Golf and Country Club. Jane loved playing cards and was a passionate bridge player who was Life Master and a Bronze Life Master. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and especially times at the beach. On October 17, 1947 she married Robert J. Verno who passed away July 6, 2007. Left behind to cherish her memory are her devoted daughters Patricia Verno of Canonsburg and Peggy Cushman and her husband David of Houston, her beloved grandchildren Jason Robert (Adriana) Furda and Kristen Leigh Cushman and her fiancé Zachary Barnot, her brothers in law Jenio Giaquinto and James Donaldson and several nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her dog Sally. Mrs. Verno was the last of her immediate family. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are her four brothers Mervin and his wife Betty, Earl and his wife Ruby, Richard who died at a young age and William Reynolds, who died in infancy.

Friends and family are welcome from 6-8pm Saturday October 5, 2019 and from 2-4 and 6-8pm Sunday October 6, 2019 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am Monday October 8, 2019 in the Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church West Pike Street Canonsburg with reverend Don Coleman officiating. Please meet at the church. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens McMurray.
