James V. Kuhns, Sr.

James V. Kuhns, “Vernon, Mayor of Springrun Rd.”, 83 of Weedville, formerly of Canonsburg passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017 in his home.

He was born on November 3, 1933 in Acme to James and Goldie Kuhns who preceded him in death.

On April 9, 1954 he married Kathleen Sisco who survives.

Mr. Kuhns was a heavy equipment operator in the construction business for many years. He was a member of the local union #66, United Mine Workers, as well as numerous social organizations. Mr.Kuhns enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending time with his wife, friends, and family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son James V. Kuhns, Jr., (Betty) of Washington, six daughters Pamela Mitchell (Tim) of Canonsburg, Brenda Hupp (Alan) of Washington, Debra A. Feiling (Charles) of Washington, Judy E. Reich (Jeffrey) of Canonsburg, Linda S. Kuhns of Weedville and Sandy Castiglione (Frank) of Pittsburgh, fifteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles, Eugene, Glen and Kenny Kuhns, two sisters Lucille Kozar and Dorothy Brown and two deceased grandchildren Andy Hete and Michelle Hupp.
