James “Jock” Thompson, 77 of Muse met his savior face-to-face on Wednesday, March 8, 2017.
He was born on September 17, 1939 in Muse to Frank and Harriet Kelley Thompson who preceded him in death.
On March 19, 1966 he married Bonnie Tagshere who survives.
Mr. Thompson was a US veteran having served in the United States Army.
He was a strong Christian and was a faithful member of Victory Church in Washington where he loved to praise and worship the Lord with his family. He had a huge heart for people, loved reading The Bible, praying for others and inviting those who were down on their luck into his home.
Mr. Thompson worked for Englehart and Power and retired from Neville Chemical in 2002. In his spare time he loved cars, especially Fords and specifically Ford Mustangs, visiting Myrtle Beach and walking along the beach. You knew where you stood with Jock and he said it like it was. He was a very good husband, father, and had an especially close relationship with his only grandson, Garrett.
In addition to his devoted and loving wife, he is survived by his only daughter, Christine E. Delvecchio (Dennis) of Washington, two sons, Frank L. Thompson and Scott D. Thompson both of Muse, a sister Marlene Sprence of Beaver, his cherished grandson, Garrett Delvecchio, seven nieces and three nephews.
