James Edward “Jim” Beveridge age 90 of Canonsburg passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Country Meadows, Bridgeville, PA. He was born September 10, 1930 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late James and Clara Rothhaar Beveridge.
Jim moved to Canonsburg from Pittsburgh in 1992. He proudly served in the United States Army, earning a Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Duquesne University, then went on to work as an auditor for Dravo and American Standard, where he retired after 14 years at the age of 55.
Jim was an animal lover especially to his dogs and cats he had rescued over the years. Up until moving to Country Meadows in March, there was always a dog or cat or both living with him. He enjoyed woodworking and crossword puzzles and loved to cook for his family.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his two sisters Clare “Sis” Noll of Bethel Park and Lois (Fran) Highberger of Vandergrift; niece Sherry Mancini of Canonsburg and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews as well as great-great nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his parents are two brothers Ronald and Edward Beveridge and sister Helen Mae Mutschler.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic private visitation and services will be held for the family at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2020, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 W. Pike St., Canonsburg 724-745-8120. The funeral service will be live streamed over Facebook and the Salandra website, where directions for viewing are on the homepage and will be available at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday.
Interment will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA at 11:00 a.m, with military honors by the United States Army.
