James E. “Jumbo” McDade, Jr., 55, of Washington passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2015.
He was born on December 10, 1959 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late James E. McDade, Sr. and Evelyn M. Lauterbach McDade.
Jumbo grew up in South Fayette and had resided in Peters Township prior to relocating to Washington. He owned and operated J. E. M. Builders in McMurray. Upon moving to Washington, he opened McDade Builders, Inc.
Jumbo enjoyed his beautiful farmhouse in Washington. He also loved spending time at his second home in Holiday, Florida. He enjoyed boating, camping, and especially enjoyed riding his Harley.
He was kind, giving, and an overall great man who was loved by many and will be sadly missed. Those who were blessed to know Jumbo could count on him saying “just one more”.
On July 31, 2010 he married his loving wife Lynda A. Gallagher McDade, who survives.
Also surviving are his beloved children, Jessica L. (Brett) Kerr of Claysville, Sarah J. McDade of Washington, Andrea R. McDade of McMurray, David J. McDade of McMurray, and step-son Dominic L. Maffio of Washington; two precious grandchildren, Lucas and Charlee Kerr of Claysville; sisters, Gloria J. (Frank Devine) DiOrio of Moon Twp. and Kitty (John) Mercier of Collier Twp.; brothers, Kevin J. (Debbie) McDade of North Strabane Twp. and Brian A. McDade of McDonald; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his step-son, Anthony M. Maffio and brothers, John F. and David P. McDade.
Friends are welcome from 12 Noon – 8 PM on Thursday, September 3, 2015 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, Lin Webb Funeral Director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM Friday, September 4, 2015 with Rev. John H. Owen officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery, Washington.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Anthony M. Maffio Scholarship Fund, c/o Trinity High School, 231 Park Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
