James J. Spilak, 55 of North Strabane Township passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015 in Canonsburg Hospital.
He was born in Washington on November 24, 1959, a son of Jessica E. Moes Spilak and the late Paul A. Spilak, II.
James was a 1977 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School and was previously an inspection mechanic with Firestone. Most recently he was self-employed.
He was a lifetime member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg.
James enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed classic cars. He loved animals, especially his cat, Elvis.
Surviving in addition to his mother are a brother, Paul A. (Beth) Spilak, III of North Strabane; two sisters, Mary Lynn Spilak of East Washington and Suzanne (Brian) Myers of Washington; niece and goddaughter, Alexandra Myers; niece, Melissa Spilak; nephew, Michael (April) Spilak; great niece and nephews, Chloe, Christopher, and Nathan; and a special cousin, Rita Polansky.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, with the rosary being recited at 2:00 PM, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, Lin Webb Funeral Director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will begin at 11:30 AM on Thursday, March 26, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 12 Noon in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Interment will follow.
